Q- What is the Secretariat's policy/strategy regarding publicity and communication of the North Sea Programme?
The North Sea Programme has recently moved on to a different phase marked by two important points: allocation of almost all project funds, and the related increased importance of results dissemination of the current programme on one hand and the overlapping requirement of being prepared for the next round of structural funds period 2007-2013, on the other. These main points have shaped the programmes publicity strategy.
The challenge is to define and disseminate the programme's achievements as a B strand transnational programme differentiated from the achievements of the A and C strands. This is particularly necessary as the transnational Interreg programmes are regarded, in some quarters, as being over-complicated and under-performing and therefore not receiving much positive attention at the moment.
In order to achieve the goals of the programmes publicity strategy the Secretariat is producing various publicity materials, organises targeted events and participates in events that can help put a high profile on the programme.
