The WaterCAP Communication Hub project brought together the water knowledge, experience and expertise from the North Sea Region Programme 2007 - 2013 into a single web-based communication hub.
Duration
05/05/2014 - 29/05/2015
Priority
2 - Promoting the Sustainable Management of our Environment
Area of Intervention
2.4 Promoting environmentally responsible energy production practices
The project had one simple aim: to provide a platform to maintain the water knowledge, experience and expertise from the 2007 - 2013 North Sea Region Programme and transfer this into the 2014 - 2020 Programme.
This also involved testing some new ways to engage professional and public audiences with the learning from projects. The partnership also engaged with other resources from other programmes, as water is a Community wide resource and not necessarily restricted by the boundaries of the region, and delivery of measures in future programmes would need to integrate with European strategy and multiple funding mechanisms.
Created a web hub to transfer water knowledge from the 2007 - 2013 North Sea Region Programme forward into 2014 - 2020 Programme and continued principles of cluster working amongst water focussed projects as a resource for 2014 - 2020 Programme and beyond.
Organised workshop and discussion to identify water knowledge gaps in the North Sea Region for the 2014 - 2020 Programme, brought together potential collaborators, and facilitated structuring of new partnerships for the first call of the 2014 - 2020 programme to ensure high quality proposals.
Transferred knowledge from WaterCAP cluster projects to Horizon2020 programme, Water Innovation Network, and Encore network for climate change.
Transferred knowledge from the LNS project of the 2007 - 2013 Programme to international fish migration community via international conference.
Continued the LNS project 'fish migration day' and ensured that event would continue on into the future with independent funding and commitment.
