North Sea Region Programme celebrates EC Day

Location Viborg Central Library, Denmark

On 21 September 2013 and the surrounding days, you can join your “neighbour” in celebrating the achievements of more than 20 years of European territorial cooperation on European Cooperation Day. Please see www.ecday.eu for events taking pleace near you!

Our local event involves school children from the Viborg area of Denmark who have been working with international tales and storytelling and illustrating their work with drawings. These drawings will be exhibited in Viborg's Central Library during the week leading up to the 21st of September, on which day they will provide the background for a storytelling session.

Danish storyteller Ingrid Hvass will use the children's drawings as a starting point to tell tales about meeting people from far away and finding that strangers can become good friends. She will show that just as in fairy tales, we too can cross borders and find something rich and interesting in the unknown. The event will include impovisation with the children based on the drawings on display.

The event is a collaboration between INTERACT, INTERREG IVB North Sea Region Programme, the Central Denmark Region and Viborg Library. Admission to the event is free, it will be held in Danish on 21 September at 10.30, and it is open to the public.
