The Belgian Presidency is hosting a Conference in Brussels on December 15th-16th titled “Lift-off towards Open Government”.

The first ever Ministerial eGovernment Conference was held in 2001; this Conference aims to demonstrate the achievement of past European eGovernment efforts, and the impact of this for citizens and industry.

The main theme of this conference will be about “Open Government”, emphasizing to the implementation of cross-border interoperability in practice.

Topics and themes like the presentation of a number of large international projects (STORK, SPOCS, PEPPOL,epSOS), the eGovernment Action Plan 2011-2015 or Europe 2020 – The Digital Agenda will feature large in the Conference Program. Two days full of breakout-sessions, a ‘Battle of the CEO’s’, a gala dinner and an exhibition will ensure that this Conference is an excellent networking event and well worth a trip to Brussels.

The NSR project Smart Cities will be on the exhibition, supported by the North Sea Region Programme.
