Hamburg University of Applied Sciences organizes for the third time after 2008 and 2009 the worldwide scientific online climate conference CLIMATE 2010 – guaranteed climate-friendly as no travels are needed to participate and the website is powered by green energy. From 1-7 November 2010, reseachers, companies, autho­rities, students and the interested public can discuss the impacts of climate change at

The key theme of the virtual conference is 'Climate Change and the Sustainable Management of Water Resources'. Renowned partners are the UN Environment Program (UNEP), the Interdisciplinary Panel of Climate Change (IPCC), UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and further world bodies.
Researchers from around the globe, but also authorities, NGOs, companies and the interested public are encouraged to submit a scientific abstract until 31 March 2010 online at www.climate2010.net, relating to one of the four following categories:

  • Category 1: Geochemical and physical impacts of Climate Change
  • Category 2: Socio-economic aspects of Climate Change (relating to water supply and use)
  • Category 3: Climate Change, policy-making and sustainable water use
  • Category 4: Projects on Climate Change and sustainable water use, in particular education and awareness-raising initiatives

All submissions will be subject to peer review. Besides online publication throughout the conference week from 1-7 November 2010, the best English papers will be considered for publication in the "International Journal of Climate Change Studies and Management" and/or the book publication "Climate Change and the Sustainable Management of Water Resources" as part of the Climate Change Management Series (Springer). Further, there is an opportunity to promote own climate-related projects and publications.
