University Work on SURF Selected as Best Practice

Work by Saxion University in the Netherlands on the Sustainable Urban Fringes (SURF) project, was recently identified as best practice by Neth-ER, the Netherlands House for Education and Research.

The project was selected from work by universities across the Netherlands, as an example of best practice for a university working on the regional knowledge infrastructure.

This work was highlighted during a presentation in the Netherlands, by Neth-ER, on the role of colleges in regional knowledge policies.

Neth-ER aims to influence the European policy making process and contributes to the broader Dutch interest in Europe by providing the Dutch knowledge field with information about relevant European developments.

Eight Dutch organisations working in the field of education, research and innovation, founded this international non-profit association in Brussels in 2006.

Saxion University is a partner in the Sustainable Urban Fringes (SURF) project and is working with Leeds Metropolitan University on the project research and analysis programme.

The SURF project is part of the Interreg IVB North Sea Region Programme and is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

Further information can be found on the SURF project can be found at www.sustainablefringes.eu.
