NSSP Visual Effects Research Lab director has one to one meeting with Culture Minister

The Scottish Government's Culture Minister Fiona Hyslop met with VERL director Peter Richardson during a visit to NSSP member University of Dundee's Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design.

The Culture Minister was visiting the city to unveil details of initial funding of £4.8m from the Scottish Government towards the V&A at Dundee. The V&A (Victoria & Albert) Museum in London was established in 1852 and is today regarded as the number one museum of art and design in the world. The V&A at Dundee will showcase Scottish design talent and provide a venue for the V&A's major international touring exhibitions. The building is to be designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, whose winning design was chosen in November last year. The V&A is working with Scottish Enterprise, Dundee City Council, and the Universities of Dundee and Abertay to create V&A at Dundee.

During her visit the Culture Minister met with some of the lead researchers at the College, including Peter Richardson (pictured above left with the Minister), director of the Visual Effects Research Lab and Network, and his colleague Dr John McGhee (pictured above right with the Minister).
