A leaflet about political backing as an essential factor for successful Interreg projects is now available for download. Politicians and policy makers are key people to ensure the lasting impact of a project and the leaflet provides insight about how to attract their interest in projects.
Securing commitment of policy level representatives right from the start of a project is crucial for its success - not only in terms of funding, but also concerning transnational knowledge and transfer of know-how.
First published at the Joint Annual Conference and General Assemblies 2008, the leaflet "Making Transnational Projects Really Count - A Political Perspective" provides valuable input about how to involve politicians and senior executives in transnational regional development projects.
It addresses issues such as:
- the need to raise the interest of politicians and senior officials from the partner organisations in the development and the results of the project,
- the connection between European policy questions and local issues,
- the importance of political networking,
- the potential contribution political representatives can make to the impact of your project.
The leaflet can be downloaded here.
Alternatively, printed copies can be ordered by mail from the North Sea Region Programme Secretariat.
