The NMU (Northern Maritime University) project is set to be the first under the IVB Programme to hold its Launch Conference entitled European Maritime Education and Training Conference. The event will take place 29-31 of May in Kirkwall on the Orkney Islands, Scotland.

Builds on previous project
NMU builds on the success of the NMC (Northern Maritime Corridor) project which addressed issues related to short sea shipping and the aim of the new NMU project is to create a transnational maritime business knowledge cluster.

Maritime education and training
The conference will focus on maritime education and training as part of NMU’s plans to develop a curriculum on issues concerned with the maritime business sector. The education programme is targeted at students and experts and will be officially accredited in the partner countries in the North Sea Region.
