The North Sea Programme Secretariat will be represented at the EUREGIA 2006 conference by Senior Spatial Development Officer Matthias Woiwode von Gilardi. He will be part of a panel discussion on transnational cooperation.

The EUREGIA (European congress and exhibition for regional development) takes place on 23-25 October in Leipzig, Germany, and is a major trade and exhibition fair oriented towards regional development and also features a congress for specialists within the field.

This year’s congress will deal with transnational and interregional cooperation in the light of the Interreg programmes and the Objective 3 programme period (2007-2013). One of the major themes of the event is Strengthening European territorial cooperation.
