Monitoring Committee No 2 for the IVB Programme was held on 28-29 February in Northampton, UK. A number of issues of relevance for the future Programme were discussed, most importantly the issue of Private Sector Beneficiaries under the IVB Programme.

The IIIB North Sea Programme project SmartLife was one of the 70 projects approved 2000-2006. The project was recently shortlisted for the RegioStar awards as one of the top 20 projects of all submitted EU projects.

The Transnational Project Development Workshop on Sustainable and Competitive Communities was held January 28-29 2008 in Hamburg, Germany. The event attracted 130 participants from all regions of the North Sea Programme area. Presentations from the event are now available online.

With the completion of the StormRisk video, the first phase of the web video project is now finished and the videos are available online. Hard copies have been manufactured and are available by mail order.

During Steering Committee No 1 new information was presented regarding Private Sector Participation in projects under the IVB North Sea Region Programme. As a result of this Fact Sheet No 7 is temporarily suspended.

The first Steering Committee meeting of the IVB Programme was held on 6-7 December in Gothenburg, Sweden. 10 project applications were presented to the Steering Committee for approval or rejection. The Steering Committee decided to approve 2 projects.

The Transnational Project Development Workshop on Innovation held in Cambridge, on the 19-20 of November, attracted participants from all North Sea Region countries. Presentations as well as a list of potential projects ideas discussed at the event are now online.

The first Steering Committee under the IVB Programme was held in Gothenburg on 6-7 December. The outcomes of the meeting will be made public as soon as the projects that have applied have been informed.
